15th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge

15th Annual Chicago Polar Plunge

Sun Mar 1

Last year more than 3,000 people jumped in the lake for Special Olympics Chicago! Whether you go knee high, waist high or take the full plunge, all are welcome to attend!

There is no registration fee and all fundraisers do receive a souvenir t-shirt and warm towel when exiting the water.

We require all participants raise a minimum of $175. It’s quick and easy to register and set up a fundraising page. You will receive a link which you can send around to family and friends so that they can make secure online, tax deductible donations.

Participants will enter the water in waves (10:30am, 11:00am, 11:30am). Costumes are encouraged – be creative!

All fundraisers will receive a long sleeved t-shirt and a commemorative towel when exiting the water! All are invited to our post event “Melt Down Party” (11am-2pm) which takes place inside the boat house and in adjacent large heated tents. Music, food, cash bar and more including FREE FOOD and FREE PHOTO DOWNLOADS!!

Prizes will also be awarded to:
* Top 3 individual fundraisers
* Best three individual costumes
* Best team costume
* Largest team

Team raising the most funds will receive a 2 hour party including food and drinks for up to 100 people on Shoreline Cruises

Not able to join us at North Avenue Beach?  You can still join in the fun by taking a Virtual Plunge.  Fill up your bath tub with ice water, take a refreshing dip, share your photo or video on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook using the hashtag #virtualplunge!  We will send you your official event t-shirt and towel as a thank you for your support once you have raised $175!
