Hanna Stopka has been involved in Special Olympics since she was small. She partakes in at least 5-6 events per year and has totaled 18 medals so far. She has been lucky to always have family come and support her at the games and even had her officer cousin present her with the gold medal two years ago. Hanna had planned to go to Normal and compete in the gymnastics at the Summer Games, and was sad that she coulnd’t. However, she has made the best of it practicing her routine so she’ll be ready for next year!
According to her mother, Hanna is “always striving to do her best and make everyone smile and laugh at the same time. She is the joy of our life with all her jokes and pranks.”
She plays an active roll with helping her mom fundraise for Misericordia and helps run events by selling tickets. She’s an awesome cook and always helping with dinner and clean up.
