Archery – Family Opportunities
April 21, 2021 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
The Chicago Park District Special Olympics Chicago team is excited to be able to host another round of Family Opportunities! These events are sponsored by Special Olympics Chicago/Special Children’s Charities.
The Spring Family Opportunities will run April 12–June 5.
Family members need to register Special Olympics Chicago athletes for each reservation they would like to make through the links below. Athletes are invited to bring up to 3 additional family members with them for activities listed below. There will not be CPD staff facilitating these activities so each athlete must arrive with a chaperone and that chaperone must stay for the duration of the activity. These are Chicago Park District events, so athletes must have a Chicago Park District Activenet account. If you don’t have an account, sign up here.
We are excited to continue our Family Archery Program! The classes will be held at the Hope Student Athletic Center(formerly Quest) located at 2641 W. Harrison. Classes will be held on Wednesdays. This class is intended for current, future and interested eligible Special Olympics athletes and their families. All must have a Chicago Park District Activenet account that is free to setup. Those athletes that have been designated for the team, will have practice and 10am and a beginner class will be held at 11am. We will be partnering with the Northside Archery Club who will be there to help instruct and assist with any training needs! Athletes must arrive with a chaperone and that chaperone must stay on-site for the duration of the lesson. Masks are required and their will be a limit on number of participants in each class so sign up today! All equipment will be sanitized between use and social distancing will be enforced. Everyone must pre-register and you can register for multiple classes! Each athlete can register with up to 3 additional family members or friends. Please do not register if you are not sure you will be able to attend and please be on time!
There are few weeks that there is a conflict with the Archery Instructor’s schedule and we will not have Archery the week of Spring Games(May 5).
Archery is a great sport for all ability levels! We hope that many of you can take advantage of the opportunity! Groups would need to sign up each participant individually but only one chaperone is needed for the entire group.
If there are any issues with your registration or the timeslot is at capacity, a member of the Chicago Park District Special Olympics team will reach out to you. Otherwise, you are all set and you will receive an email the week of your reservation with final details.
