Our second Coach of the month is Kate Grant. Kate is the Special Recreation Coordinator at McGuane Park and has been for the last 8 years. She always pushes her athletes to do their best and cheers them on the whole way. One of Kate’s athletes said “Kate is an amazing coach.”
In 2018 Kate was actually honored as a “Hometown Hero” and flew with Thunderbird 7 in the Air and Water Show.
Kate’s uncle was an athlete in the first games that started in Chicago in 1968, so Special Olympics is very near and dear to her heart and she really shows that through all of her work. Thanks for being an awesome Special Olympics Chicago coach, Kate!!
