When I was 12 years old, my little sister Lindsey competed it her first Special Olympics snowshoeing competition. Over a decade and a half later, the organization has been a central part of my life ever since. I am so thankful to Special Olympics, not only for giving athletes like my sister a chance to be part of a team, but also for creating such an accepting and supportive community that I’m proud of to be a part of. I wouldn’t be who I am without it.
